I had done the most weirdest thing which I've never done before. And for someone with the right frame of mind would not even think of doing it. Just don't know overcame me. What happen was, I was reading the Asian Beacon June/July '03 issue this morning. I happen to chance upon this article written by a local evangelist, HT Long. It was an article written by him about himself. Wrote about his life and how he became an evangelist. And even talked about his ministry. His mobile number was listed at the end of the article.
After reading his article, I just felt a sense of need to send him an sms to encourage him. Look, I don't even know him apart from the brief reading about him. And so I did send him an sms, telling how encouraged I was reading his article. And told him to keep up the good work. Left him with a scripture from my quiet time.
Philippians 4:4-7
"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
Till now I've not receive any reply from him. Probably thinks I'm some sort of a weirdo. Well at least for me, I know I did something right and I feel right doing it. Hope my sms went well with him.
